Moscow Poly to Present Books and Projects at International Book Exhibition in Belarus
The “World of Book Beyond Boarders” XXX international book exhibition and fair started in Minsk on March 22. The creative director Ekaterina Khokhlogorskaya will represent Moscow Poly at the event that is to last until March 26.
This year, Russia is a special guest to the exhibition as 2023 is announced the year of the Russial language as the means of international communication in the CIS region. The welcoming speech was delivered by the president of the Russian Book Union, president of the Moscow Poly supervisory board Sergei Stepashin.
To the capital of Belarus, Moscow Poly brought several books published by the University and its partners.
At the isle, for instance, there`ll be “My Polytech – Photohistory of Life at Moscow Poly” photoalbum – a story about life at Moscow Poly and people who build the University. Album was published by the 155th anniversary that the Unviersity celebrated in 2021. It includes almost 500 photos.
The guests will also be able to look through the “On the Way to Victory” compilation of articles and memoirs by the teachers, employees and graduates of the universities that became part of Moscow Poly.
In addition, “Our Nenashev. Teacher, Journalist, Minister” book will also be presented to those present at the exhibition-fair. The books is dedicated to the famous publicist and founder of the department of periodical printing (currently – department of journalism and mass communications under Moscow Poly), as well as other compilations dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Moscow VKHUTEMAS: “VKHUTEMAS Poligraffak” and “Pictorial Art. Graphics”.
As a reminder, VKHUTEMAS (faculty of printing arts under the Higher Art and Technical Studio) – is alma mater for the Moscow Poly V.A. Favorsky Institute of Graphics and Book Art.
In the framework of Minsk exhibition for CIS publishers and book dealers, there will be a presentation of the “Volga Wave 2023” IX international Book Exhibition Fair. Ekaterina Khokhlogorskaya and the sales manager of the “Russkiy Mir” publishing house Alexander Gorokhov will tell about exhibition in more detail.
The same speakers will introduce the audience to the fascinating two-volume book published by the “Zhizn` and Mysl`” publishing house about outstanding VKHUTEMAS personae, creators of the bright image of the USSR, artists-inventors, teachers and mentors Alexandra Rodchenko and Varvara Stepanova.
Also, there will be a presentation of the “Book of the Future” international contest for youth projects that Moscow Poly is holding together with the Russian Book Union.
Another large-scale project – the “Age of Constructionism” – will be presented by Moscow Poly together with the “Russkiy Mir” publishing house and Stroganov Academy of Design and Applied Arts. The presentation will take place at the main stage of the book forum.
For reference: the exhibition is traditionally unites writers, publishers and representatives of book trade from 10-30 CIS and non-CIS countries.
