Moscow Poly Students Will See ‘Interstellar’

Moscow Poly student scientific society and “Kinoclub” hold cinema sessions for the University students and employees where various scientific films are shown. The first film students will watch and discuss at “Tochka Kipeniya” is “Interstellar”.

To attend, one has to register.

Organizers say, that after the film screening there will be a discussion where students will be able to talk on how they see modern science and the way the existence of technologies was manifested itself in the art genre back then. It is no secret that a number of ideas shown in science fiction films have already been transferred into real projects.

“The viewers will analyze the film not only from an artistic, but also scientific point of view, showing how art and natural sciences go hand in hand, complementing each other”, - the organizing committee noted.

“Interstellar” is a science fiction movie (2014) directed by Christopher Nolan. The film describes the travels of a group of explorers who use a recently discovered time-space tunnel to circumvent the limitations of human space flight and conquer vast distances on an interstellar spaceship.

The film paid off at the box office and got positive feedback from film critics and high review from viewers, including some scholars. “Interstellar” received a number of awards and has been several times nominated for awards, including “Oscar” in the “Best special effects” category.
