Moscow Poly Students Made It to Russian National Finals of Olympiad in Journalism
In the beginning of May, a selective tour of the XVI university “Journalism” Olympiad was held where Moscow Poly Institute of Publishing and Journalism students were deemed the best. The 1st place in the central federal district went to Tatiana Pukhova who has scored 89/100 points. Whereas the second place was shared by Nikita Chernenko and Andrei Yudin, each scored 87 points.
A total of 186 applications for the first tour were made. 149 students from 25 universities located in seven different federal districts of the Russian Federation. Within two hours, the participants had to demonstrate their knowledge on such subjects as history of Russian journalism, legal basis in that sphere, broadcast journalism, new media, basic television and radio broadcasting. Some tasks were aimed at singling out professional competencies that future specialists must possess.
“I did not expect that I would take any winning place. I just wanted to score good points. The most difficult was to finish in time. The task were interesting but I would like think them over a little longer” – shared Tatiana Pukhova.
The winners are now getting ready for the second tour of the Olympiad that will take place this fall in Tomsk.
