Moscow Poly Students and Employees Can Make Up Talisman for Decade of Science and Technologies
The contest aimed at identifying the talisman for the Decade of Science and Technologies started in Russia. Any citizen can of Russian can take part in the contest. For that, one needs to upload their own talisman version with a short description on the official website of the contest before 31.
The talisman can be a Russian flora or fauna representative, natural phenomena, any living object or imaginary person. It`s prohibited to use state symbols, trademarks, or elements that run contrary to public social interests, humanity and morale principles. One can performed a contest work in any technique or genre. The works displaying characters created by other authors earlier will not be allowed to participate.
The selection will held in several stages.
In the period between August 1 and 15 – students of majoring universities will check their talismans with the compliance with the contest rules, and the jury board, that is formed from well-known academicians, professional from the sphere of art, media and acting, in their turn, make their final decision according to which the short-list of 40 works.
In the period between September 1 and 15, the selected talismans will be published on the official page of the for public voting. Five best works will be presented to the Coordination Committee for the Decade of Science and Technologies for the winning talisman.
Today, Russia is in top-10 countries in terms of number of scientific works and elaborations. According to the social surveys, the prestige of being an academician in our country has been increasing growing. 64% parents would love to see their children in the research area, at the same time more and more young people are actually getting interested in science starting as early as school years. This is caused directly by the events held in the framework of the Decades accentuated by the president. And to make science even more available and interesting for our citizens, we need pay more attention to its promotion. Anyone can suggest their vision of the talisman. I`m convinced it will be a bright symbol of the Russian scientific thought and achievements made our academicians”, - highlighted the deputy president of the government of the Russian Federation, co-president of the Coordination committee for Science and Technologies Dmitry Chernyshenko.
The presentation of the final talisman will be held within the III Congress for Young Scientists at “Sirius”. The finalists of the contest will be awarded diplomas and souvenirs. And winner will receive a chance to visit Congress for Young Scientists, and their work will be the official symbol for the Decade for Science and Technologies in Russia.
