Moscow Poly Student Team Participated in “Russian Wave” Largest Festival of Extreme Water Sports
The “Russian Wave: festival of extreme culture” that is the most large scale festival of extreme water sports took place in the Tverskaya oblast in July. At the event, Moscow Poly “Manta Ray” team has demonstrated the elaborations that they made under the “Sunny Regatta” project for the first time.
The University has presented two solar running boats “Valentina Queen” and “Murena” for the demonstrational swim. According to the team members, the special thing about “Valentina Queen” is its effectiveness because it has a long power range and is easy to navigate, whereas “Murena” is the most transformative boat. It has the on-board computer that displays all the indications and battery charge.
After the festival the team has shared about boat construction and how they work. Special attention was paid to the students` ecological elaborations.
“To sum up the results of the festival, it can be noted that we had to work under challenging weather conditions. It`s not the first time we had to perform on Volga but the waves this time were very big. Also, we used this festival as a training for the upcoming contests”, - noted the head of the “Manta Ray” team, Valentina Kaplina
The contest is to be held on 27 August in Nizhy Nivgorod.
It`s worth noting that during the summer season is always busy for Moscow Poly Manta Ray. Last weekend, for example, the team hosted an open day event where “Valentina Queen” and “Murena” were also displayed.
