Moscow Poly Participated in International Conference in AI, Robotics and Applied Research in Early August in China
On August 12, an International Conference in AI, Robotics and Applied Research took place in China where Moscow Poly was represented by the vice-president for international affairs Yulia Davydova, director of the Advanced Engineering School of Electric Vehicles (AES) Pablo Iturralde, AES press secretary Yulia Faustova and the head of the directorate for international integration and work with foreign students (WFS) Anastasia Ahmedova.
The Conference mainly aimed at providing a platform for academic staff in the sphere if artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics both in China and abroad to foster the latest academic and technological achievements, joint cooperation in development of research and technological applications, as well as contributing to the progress in the sphere of global AI.
The opening ceremony of the event, Yulia Davydova delivered an introductory speech where she thanked her colleagues for the invitation and expressed hope for the fruitful cooperation between Moscow Poly and China. The vice-president, together with other specialists, took part in accessing reports by the Chinese students in the nomination for the best report.
The Conference became a great opportunity to build relationships with colleagues from friendly nations. Thus, in the course of the event, a cooperation agreement was signed between Moscow Poly and University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. The document aims at training highly-qualified specialists in various field areas and will allow to improve diplomatic relations and launch joint educational activity in the future.
The their reports, speakers from Moscow Poly shared the experience that the University has in developing (Russian) national education and implementing AI in various projects.
The director of Moscow Poly AES delivered a report on the topic of “Implementing Artificial Intelligence in Mechanical Engineering”. Pablo Iturralde talked on how the University engineers, when working on various projects starting from racing prototypes to electric bikes, build databases and teach it AI.
Moscow Poly AES press secretary, in her turn, delivered a report on “Education in AI. Developing Technlogy through University Projects”. The key idea of the report was the project approach adopted by AES. Yulia Faustova shared a way that Moscow Poly enrollees take from kids technoparks and master degree studies to working at the University or partnering companies.
Moscow Poly specialists also brought up a question of education for foreign students. In the course of the event, Anastasia Ahmedova delivered a presentation of the University. The head of the directorate for international integration and WFS shared the opportunities and programs developed specially for the international audience.
In the framework of the event, Moscow Poly representatives had a chance to communicate with the Chinese audience, students from China who joined the Conference and collected contacts for further interaction.
In the course of the business trip that aimed at improving diplomatic relations, the Moscow Poly delegation paid a visit to University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (Mianyang, Sichuan province). During the visit, the question of academic mobility and prospects for launching joint online and offline programs was discussed.
In total, 16 universities including three Russian universities, University of Guelph (Canada) and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) participated in the International Conference in AI, Robotics and Applied Research.
