Moscow Poly 'Fenix' Detachment Students Excelled at Russian Lifewrestling Championshi
Russian Open Lifewrestling Championship under the “Price is a saved life” slogan has taken place for the fifth time. Over twenty teams competed for the “Junior” Cup (11-17 years old) and “Lifeguards” Cup (18-60 years).
Lifewrestling is an applied team sport aimed at teaching people with no medical degree first aid. In the course of the Championship, participating teams learnt to “render first aid” at the accident site and provide post-explosion assistance. The participants simulated how to handle injuries of various severity. The contest was followed by the part where mistakes were analyzed.
“This year, the Championship was held in an updated format that is aimed at enhancing visual appeal of the contest and, at the same time, approximation to real conditions that lifeguards work in. All participants have shown decent knowledge and skills in first aid assistance but Moscow Poly ‘Fenix’ fire and rescue unit students excelled most of all“, - noted Sergei Ofitserov, the head of the civil defense and emergency unit.
For reference: the event was held under assistance of the “Schkola Bubnova” national center for teaching first aid rendering and the Youth branch under the Russian Lifeguard Union.
