The Marussia GT sport car developed by Moscow Poly team and IY Engineering has been placed third in the “Russian Endurance Challenge” 4-hr endurance race. The car was piloted by Vitaly Larionov and Michael Belov.
The third stage of the race took place on September 25 at the Moscow Raceway racing trach. Vitaly Larionov, the pilot gave his feedback on how the race went:
“The race and qualifications were not all that easy, the weather conditions had their impact on all registered crews. And nevertheless, we managed to get on the pedestal. The main goal for us was gathering information for further modifications, for this reason the race has turned out positively”.
Marussia GT [sport car] weighs 1,182kgs. It has an Audi R8 power unit installed to it with its capacity of 430 horse powers. There`s 6 speed automatic gearbox, as well as the fire extinguishing system and ABS. The car size is 45,000mm x 2,000mm. The maximum speed that the car may reach 250kg/h.
Marussia GT has been modified and revived at Moscow Poly sport cars lab. This season, the sport car has already become the winner at 3 stages of the “Russian Endurance Challenge”
4-hour endurance race held in Moscow and St.Petersburg.
In 2010, the initial “Marussia GT” project was intended to participate in FIA GT and adjust the car to public roads. In 2020, within the framework of a shared project between Moscow Poly and IY Engineering the car was modified in the lab for sport car design. In the course of one year, the engineers managed to improve the car, and in the beginning of the season 2021 it was brought to the Moscow Raceway track for first trials.
