The whole world celebrated the International Day for Tolerance. Russia is a multicultural country, that`s why all the important days, dedicated to the environment of amiability and mutual international understanding, are very important to our country.
The International Day for Tolerance was solemnly proclaimed in the UNESCO “Declaration of Principles on Tolerance” in 1995 during the 28th General Conference of UNESCO.
Tolerance is “respect, acceptance and proper understanding of rich cultural diversity, human forms of self-expression and ways of expressing human individuality”.
The Declaration considers threats to humanity from intolerance and suggests ways and methods of fighting it. “Tolerance is an art of living in the world of people and ideas”. (A.G. Asmolov)
