Happy Russian Press Day!

Higher School of Printing and Media Industry of Moscow Polytechnic University congratulates all our partners, teachers, graduates of past years and future graduates on the Day of the Russian Press!

We wish you conquestion of new professional tops, achieving new goals, inspiration and brilliant ideas!

The professional community has been celebrating Russian Press Day since 1991. The holiday was established by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Russian Federation to replace the existing Day of the Soviet Press.

Today, we cannot imagine our life without periodicals that are already developing in the virtual space. The formats of everyday magazines and newspapers change with their readers. Although until the beginning of the 18th century, there was no Russian-language printed press in Russia. The first newspaper called "Vedomosti" was published by decree of Peter the Great in 1703.

Since 1997, on the Day of the Russian Press, outstanding journalists have been awarded the Prize of the President of Russia and other federal and regional awards. And young journalists are awarded state scholarships for the development of new promising projects.

In our university, the specialty of journalism was revived in 2006 at Department of "Periodical Press" (now it is Department of "Journalism and Mass Communications named after M. F. Nenashev"). The first graduation of journalists took place in 2011. Today there are more than 700 graduates of the department! These are correspondents and editors of leading Russian media, correspondent and reporters, heads of press services of state and commercial structures. The main thing is that they are all excellent specialists, professionals, good people, of whom we are rightfully proud of.

A very strong pedagogical staff of the department, reliable ties with the industry and, of course, systemic interaction with Moscow and Russian schools for vocational guidance of high school students in the field of journalism and the media and project activities allowed us to achieve such a high level of training and recognition from employers of our graduates.
