Exhibition by Honored Artist of Russia, Honorary Professor of Moscow Polytechnic University Andrei Dubov Launched
The exhibition “The World of Simple Things” by Andrei Dubov in honor of the author’s 65th anniversary opened at the Moscow branch of the Union of Artists of Russia. The exhibition displays over 40 works that belong to different periods of creativity.
Andrey Igorevich has been working as a teacher at our University for 20 years. Over the years, he has trained hundreds of students who have become book artists, illustrators, and designers. In 2011, Andrey Dubov was awarded the title of professor, and last year - honorary professor of Moscow Polytechnic University.
As experts and colleagues note, Andrei Dubov is a prominent representative of Moscow monumental school, who inherited from his teacher Andrei Vasnetsov, one of the founders of the “severe style,” the ability to see the main thing in the depicted object. The author's works are precise and concise; he is equally good at portraits, landscapes, and still lives.
Moscow Polytechnic University president Vladimir Miklushevsky, congratulated the honored artist of Russia, honorary professor of our University Andrei Dubov on his anniversary.
“Andrei Igorevich’s personal contribution to the education of new generations of book artists, to the preservation and development of the domestic book art cannot be overestimated. We bow down before your work, for the pupils that you trained – our graduates and students. I am convinced that there are still many new intakes of freshmen ahead, whom our painters accompany in all courses of study. There is still a lot of inspiration and creative energy, beautiful powerful canvases, major exhibitions, cultural and educational projects ahead. Happy anniversary!”, noted the president of Moscow Polytechnic University Vladimir Miklushevsky in his congratulatory speech.
