Moscow Polytech is holding an exhibition of works by Moscow Polytech University graduate Veronica Bolshakova on February 27.
Veronica Bolshakova graduated Moscow State University of Printing Arts in 2002 but has been interested in engraving long before.
The artist is actively engaged in easel graphic works but her main passion over the years has been linoleum printing with its plastic language has been formed thanks to the influence of the Russian classic artists of Russian engraving – Anatoliy Borodin and Guryi Zakharov. Family life and upbringing of kids have predetermined the range of topics referenced to in graphics: everyday scenes, resting time at dacha, trips to the seaside and round Russian cities.
In spite of the monochrome nature of engraving Veronica Bolshakova manages to convey the light of the sun, then goes through the windows from terrace and the warmth of summer days that are so lacking during the lengthy Russian winter.
