Moscow Polytech to Hold Academic Mentorship Forum “I am Mentor” on November 8
The Forum is commemorated to the Year of teacher and mentors. The mission of the year is to recognize a special status of pedagogical workers including those doing mentorship. The Forum aims at developing systems of academic mentorship, translating best practices at Universities, schools, business communities.
The participants and target audience of the forum are specialists in the sphere of implementing youth policies at Russian universities, school teachers engaged in scientific-research and project activity with school, university students and representatives of business communities.
The Forum will start with a plenary session starring honored guests and experts including representative of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, State Duma Committee for Youth Policy, “Znaniye” Russian movement and others. The candidate of psychological sciences, associate professor, director at “Youth Institute” Svetlana Yu. Popova will take up the role of moderator. At the plenary session, the experts will have an opportunity to discuss the issues of mentorship as a social phenomenon, the role that mentors play in the academic environment, and mentorship models.
The sessions will be held in a mixed format (speaker session, panel discussions, case studies, presentations of practices and etc.), which will allow not only dive into the theory but also study practical application of technologies when working with young people. The Forum will be concluded by a play performed by the Theatrical Area under the MISIS University – “Otrochestvo” play based on Yaroslava Pulinovich`s work of the same name as Lev Tolstoi`s work.
