The Open Day at the Moscow Poly

January 27 the Open Day was held at the Moscow Poly. Applicants and their parents could see student projects and learn about admission to the university in 2018.

The Open Day began with an exhibition of projects, which had been carried out by students in the framework of the discipline “The project activity”.  The guests were shown a boat on solar batteries by a team “Manta Ray”, racing cars “Iguana G10t1” and “Iguana Generation 9”, a bike “MIG Phoenix”, a concept of a self-driven two-seater vehicle for intercity passenger transportation “Lada 2050”, robots from the project “Competition robotics” of Department “Smart technologies” of the IT faculty, and other works. The schoolchildren from 14 to 17 years of age could enroll during the Open Day to the classes at the Children’s Technopark of the Moscow Poly.

At the official part, the Moscow Poly administration representatives, teachers and employees of the admission commission took floor. They made a presentation of admission rules for 2018, spoke of the education system at the university, internships and employment, extra-curricular activities, and, as well, practice at well-known companies: “Kaspersky Lab”, “1C”, Unilever, BMW, EuroChem and others.

In addition, guided tours to laboratories, series of lectures and master classes were arranged for the applicants. For example, a workshop in stamping, artistic casting and electronics, a seminar in technology of wireless charging and a game “Modern manager”.

At the Open Day of the Higher School of Printing and Media Industry the teachers spoke of the institutes of the HSPMI: of graphics and book art, named after Favorskiy, of communications and media business, of publishing and journalism and of print media and IT. In the end of the Open Day the Moscow Poly teachers, together with senior schoolchildren, worked on mock tests of EGE in physics and math.

The next Open Day will be held on February 17.  The applicants will be able to see the engineering faculty, the faculty of chemical technology and biotechnology, of urban problems and municipal economy and Higher School of Printing and Media Industry of the Moscow Poly.
