From January 24 to 27 the Championship of the Russian Student Sports Union (RSSU) in mixed combat martial art (MMA) was held in Omsk. Participants were students and post-graduate students of about 20 Russian universities. The Moscow Poly team RUFIGHTA returned from the competition with a second-degree Diploma for a golden, silver and two bronze medals, gained by our guys.

The Moscow Poly Sports Club represented at the Championship not just the home university, but Moscow as well. According to a competition participant, winner of a golden medal in the weight up to 77,1 Roman Meladze, the competitive struggle was serious. “I held three duels, all the fights were heavy, very worthy fighters performed in my weight class. I won the first and the final fights on points, the second one – by a knockout in the first round. The couch Vadim Vlasov led me through the preparation to the competition. A big thankyou to him, he invested much efforts in our club. Now I will be preparing to the Moscow Championship in pankration (it will be qualification for the Russia Championship)”.

“The team of judges was very professional, it was the first time when I did not see a single interested decision”, says the team couch Vadim Vlasov. – “The RUFIGHTA fighters laid out for all 100%, and, as a result we managed to rise to the second place in the team score round. Thanks to Head of Department “Physical education” of the Moscow Poly Aleksandr Pleshakov, for his trust in our young sport and his support rendered to it”.
