Students of the IT faculty won a grant in the contest Forge of 3D Solutions

January 16 the company “Autodesk” announced the sole winner of the open contest of youth projects “Forge of 3D Solutions”. It is the team of the 3rd course of the educational program “Integration and programming in CAD”, consisting of Dmitriy Dubrovkin, Ekaterina Ivakina, Dmitriy Martynov under the leadership of the teachers – specialists of “Autodesk Forge” and “Fusion 360 API” Andrey Djunkovskiy and Dmitriy Kholodov.

The students are engaged in development of the application “MicroScribe-Digitizer” for digitalization of 3D objects by means of the digitizer “MicroScribe” and building their models in “Fusion 360”. The application will be helpful for engineers and designers to solve problems of reverse engineering, for metrology engineers to control geometry of manufactures, and to programmers, dealing with development of games and projects, connected with virtual reality. “MicroScribe-Digitizer” is available in the Apps.Autodesk store.

Earlier this project became a winner of the Spring Intercollegiate Hackathon in Programming at Autodesk, where it received positive reviews and recommendations by experts, industry representatives, developers of apps for automated designing and modeling.

The open contest of youth projects “Forge of 3D Solutions” is arranged by the “Autodesk” company for students, post-graduate students and teachers. The projects were collected from December 11, 2017 to January 12, 2018. The winners will receive grants, amounting to $3 000 (a Forge Research Grant), to be provided by the international foundation “Forge Fund”, issuing grants for the most promising projects in the area of CAD.

The platform “Autodesk Forge” is a set of cloud services and combines designing, engineering, visualization, joint work, production and operation of business processes. The interfaces of applied programming (API) and a software development kit (SDK) allow to small and large companies to develop intuitively explicit apps and services for those who create objects around us.

It is worth noting that on the eve of the New Year the Moscow Poly became a participant of the support program “Autodesk Developer Network (ADN). Besides that, the students of the IT faculty took prize places in the hackathon of “Autodesk” in St Petersburg.
